How video games change lives.

I know, it’s an outlandish title, but think about it. Without video games, how else would I have come to do this? I came to Justin.tv because my sister said there was this guy playing video games live on his PC. I didn’t look into it until I started thinking about how cool it is. People from all over the world watching YOU, one person, play a video game. I met the Collision 28 crew and watched them do Unfocused, and I loved it. Why did I love it? Video games. Yeah, they talk about music and d*ck moves and movies. I didn’t watch because of that, to begin with.

Thinking more about video games, I think about the tournaments. Usually when one thinks of video game tournaments, one (or at least me) usually thinks of EVO. EVO is a tournament for popular fighting games such as Street Fighter (pick a number), MvC2, Soul Calibur 4, and TvC. Evo has played host to many exciting moments such as Daigo’s Full Parry Comeback video; it has also connected an insane amount of people due to their love of the genre. People from all over the world travel to tournaments and stay connected through websites.

An example is myself, I have traveled out of state to play Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Though it may not have been very far (Alabama to Louisiana), I will never forget it. Though, I stayed with a family member in LA, others who travel may stay with someone they met on Smashboards or All is Brawl; Either way, it makes for a great way to meet people of different playstyles, as well as cultures.

Whether it be fighting games, RTS (real time strategy) games, RPGs (role playing games), or FPS(first person shooter)/Third person shooter games; Video games have changed so many lives and technology in a way that is hard to do.

Overall, I think that without them, the world would have never been the same by an immeasurable degree.Think about it; How have video games affected your life?

I played games before I was born. My mom swallowed a controller.
