Rumors have been going around for months about Marvel vs Capcom 2 being released as a Downloadable game via X-Box Live. It started with the discovery of the pending ESRB rating. Then leaks of X-Box Achievements were found even more recently. Then finally Marvel cracked minutes before the teaser site’s count down reached zero and announced it. Finally the wait is over and the classic arcade game is once again going to be available for people to buy and play.
It will be released this summer for $15 on the PSN and X-Box Live Arcade. It won’t be available on Nintendo’s Wii because “it’s too big for the Wii” file size wise, and can’t be made small enough to fit on Nintendo’s Wii Ware service.
It will have HD Support and Widescreen Support. It will also have a specail filter that will let you choose between a “classic” look, a “smooth” look, or what looks to be a hybrid called “crisp”.
All 56 characters will be available, so no need to unlock everyone, thank goodness. And the Custom Soundtrack option will be there for those who like to make burned copies of Dreamcast versions with their own soundtrack.
And of course there will be online versus, as it should.
The re-release will be based upon the Dreamcast release. So no missing frames and other tweaks the PS2 and X-Box copies had.
And finally, a demo should be ready for download today on the PSN. Get On It!
So the game isn’t going to be that rare anymore, huh? Copy of the game for PS2, XBOX and Dreamcast have been dropping on eBay and Amazon. So if you’re looking for a hard copy of the game you might be able to find it for cheaper now. But if you’re looking to sell your copy, better start selling it right away!
